I have read many books about body language, but definitely this is an Incredible book and is my favorite, I´ve also seen many documentals and videos of body language.
I also have taken different sales trainings and the speakers have always one common thing they said and was that body language has to do with 85% + of sales, each sales training brang a different percentage but it was always very high, between 85% to 93%.
In some law enforcement agencies there are body language experts that interview suspects of high crimes and many times the interviewers have gotten the POWER to get the truth just by reading the body language signaling of the suspect.
The Definitive Book of Body is rich in pictures and drawings were you can see clearly what they explain on the book.
They have the great Marilyn Moroe in several chapters and explain her body language in each picture, for example in the picture below, Marilyn is in a posture were she is showing her neck, which makes men attracted to her as that subconsciously signals she is submissive and unprotected and man immediately unconsciously wants to protect her.
I´ll mention a very little information on three chapters of the book that will be highlighted in color zombie green:
The Power is in Your Hands talks about how important is the lenght of a handshake as well on how much pressure a person has to apply and how the handshake has to be done, it tells you what subconsciously impression you get from people depending on the type of handshake you use.
Eye Signalstells you that women and men´s eyes are made different and we also gaze at things distinctly, women has wider-ranging peripheral vision and she can see more things than a man if a woman is in front of a fridge she does not need to look for an item as her vision let´s her see the whole display inside as man has to look in all directions to find the item, and man has tunnel vision and can see a small portion but that gives man the advantage over women to focus in a specific point making man better snipers than women.
Space Ivaders – Territories and Personal SpaceIt gives a clear example on the distance were cultures are comfortable with, Americans have a personal space of 18 to 48 inches while Japanese have only 10 inches, when they meet it seems that they are dancing as the Japanese walks forward towards the American while this one walks back to protect his personal space.
The book definitely helps you to better understand people and to use body language to have better relationships that goes from family to enemies.
